National Awards
Chaudhary Devi Lal Outstanding Award
Owing to its significant contribution for the cause of spices, ICAR-AICRPS was awarded the prestigious **Chaudhary Devi Lal Outstanding All India Coordinated Research Project Award-2017** for the Best All India Coordinated Research Project.
As the largest network of spice scientists in India, AICRPS has adopted a multidisciplinary approach to develop over 150 improved spice varieties. Furthermore, the **Pepper Research Station, Panniyur** was recognized as the **Best Centre** under AICRPS in the same year for its outstanding output, including nine varieties and world-first hybrids.
ICAR-Fakhruddin Ali Ahmed Award
Awarded for **Outstanding Research in Tribal Farming Systems**, recognizing the project's impact on tribal communities in Andhra Pradesh, Odisha, and Chhattisgarh.
The project implemented multi-institutional value chains for turmeric and black pepper, supporting FPOs and achieving organic certification for tribal farmers, significantly increasing their productivity and income.
